PAPAROA GUIDED WALKS

At minimum you need to be able to walk 5-7 hours a day up to 19km, carrying a backpack weighting 12kg (25lbs).

To help you plan your trip, we offer the following list as a suggestion of what to pack. The weather can change quickly on this track so you must be prepared for adverse conditions.

The unpredictable nature of the weather on the west coast means that snow, high winds and rain can occur at any time of the year.

Our trip includes complimentary use of high quality gear, decreased pack weight, daily breakfasts, fresh lunches and dinners prepared for you each evening by a qualified and experienced guide.

The Paparoa Track consists a mixture of forest tracks and alpine trails. As a hike they are neither easy nor difficult to traverse but they can be challenging in places.

Going guided with Paparoa Guided Walks is a unique opportunity to see amazing sights and gain a greater understanding of an area, its people, culture and history. It can intensify the enjoyment and memories made while hiking.

We employ local guides, porters and drivers who intimately know the area which they all call home. All our guides are also certified bush leaders, and members the New Zealand Outdoor Instructing Association (NZOIA)
